Music is an integral part of the Take Five atmosphere. You might have guessed that as we’re named after a song and our walls feature images of jazz greats. We program our own music (and gladly pay our ASCAP fees to support the music makers). It’s primarily jazz – lots of old Blue Note recordings – but we mix in a healthy dose of good rock, funk, soul and rhythm & blues. If there’s something you think we might like to add, tell us. Our ears are always open.
Green Lady is an exclusively Jazz lounge featuring Kansas City Jazz musicians in the rich Kansas City tradition. Free of televisions you can focus on music, atmosphere and conversation.
Kansas City Jazz has a rich and real history there is no doubt. As important, Kansas City Jazz is alive, thriving and still growing. The sheer number of amazingly talented musicians in Kansas City is beyond comparison… especially for the size of our wonderful city.
You can hear live Kansas City Jazz seven days a week at The Majestic Restaurant featuring performers like Bram Wijnands, Tommy Ruskin, Rich Hill, and others. For a real Kansas City Jazz experience make a reservation for our Jazz Club any Friday or Saturday night to hear live jazz late into the evening. Nothing compliments this music like a great Kansas City steak or a hand crafted, prohibition era cocktail. This is why we offer our full dinner and cocktail menu in The Jazz Club. Join us for an evening and you will know why The Majestic Restaurant strives to keep the Kansas City Jazz tradition alive and well for future generations of performers and music lovers.
