Music is an integral part of the Take Five atmosphere. You might have guessed that as we’re named after a song and our walls feature images of jazz greats. We program our own music (and gladly pay our ASCAP fees to support the music makers). It’s primarily jazz – lots of old Blue Note recordings – but we mix in a healthy dose of good rock, funk, soul and rhythm & blues. If there’s something you think we might like to add, tell us. Our ears are always open.
Take Five Coffee Bar also features live music every Friday and Saturday night (and sometimes Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday too) from the amazingly talented artists living in the Kansas City area and beyond.
